If you like reality TV and space YA, you'll love this book. Parts of it remind me of Love Island in space, with twelve teens on a rocket to Mars, speed dating for the 5 month trip until they decide who they will marry when they arrive, in order to start a colony on the planet. It sounds a bit ridiculous but it's actually such a good read, and it also has the mystery and tension of books like Illuminae, as we learn early on that the contestants will die shortly after arriving on Mars.
I loved the relatively light take on the genre, with a good enough dose of mystery and I can't wait for the second in the series. The entire series has already been published in its original French, and I am impatiently waiting for the translation of the second after such a cliffhanger ending.
Since finishing the book, it's all I can think about. I can't wait to read more of Léo and the gang!
