I was very excited to read this book, thinking it was going to be the next Hunger Games. Sadly, it was nothing like that.

It was a long book, and could’ve been shortened down by at least 100 pages because the pace was excruciatingly slow. I never connected to the characters - Leo had no particularly redeeming qualities, and I never really understood why Alexander’s character was even a part of the story - I assume he’ll be brought into the plot more in the next book? As for the love triangle between Marcus, Mozart and Leo, I found myself uncaring about any of them, least of all who Leo was going to pick - the romance lacked and I found myself bored and desperate for the novel to finish.

This was sad for me, as I really expected this book to be great. But it fell flat in so many places, and I couldn’t get into it at all. It had too many flaws, and no redeeming qualities, so I have to give it 2 stars out of 5
