What a ride!
Part love story, part space adventure, part reality show... what an imaginative book! Twelve young people are leaving Earth, never to return, and will start a new life on Mars. They must pair up and marry on arrival. Their every move is and will always be watched by a huge audience on a reality TV channel. I thought the writing style was a little heavy handed: the villains were pantomime baddies with no redeeming features, all the astronauts were beautiful/handsome, and every new twist or event in the story was spelled out in rather too obvious detail, but having said all that, I absolutely loved the story, and was frustrated when I finished reading, only to realise that it's part of a trilogy (two more books that I will now have to buy..)
