This appears to be a very informative book - I’ve read a lot of stories set in this period and I’m familiar with the history, but I love the way that each chapter is contextualised with a historical quote - it helps the reader understand what is happening and why.
I love the writing style - it provides a good narrative through the use of adjectives, and I would really like to continue reading this book
