I was pulled in by the cover, the darker side of the war and life in general. My impression was further intrigued by the mention of ‘heart wrenching’ and a complex relationship dynamic, which leads to many different facets which the book may explore. I am interested in this time era and the sociology of people. I also am intrigued as it is a true story.
