Gripped from the prologue
So many of us seem to have a fascination with books written about the wars, and that doesn't look to be going anywhere with this novel. The opening pages of the prologue immediately draw you in to the panic of invasion and the pain of suffering.
Sentences are short, keeping the novel punchy as you race through to see what happens next. However I typically prefer slightly longer chapters to get into the narrative a bit deeper.
