I don't suppose any one could imagine the horrors of the second world war unless you actually lived through it and that is probably a blessing. The Jewish communities and it's people must have been absolutely terrified and having only read about the horrors of what they had to go through and their desperate struggles to try to escape to other countries I would not liked to have had to endure the hardships they suffered. The author of this book seems to follow the lives of people caught up in the terror of the nazi regime, one jewish , and I can't wait to see if they and their families survived
