I hated history at school. Since reading a bit more historical fiction though, I've become fascinated with learning more about the war and reading more of this type of fiction.
The opening of Ashes does not disappoint. The prologue instantly draws you in and as you move into chapter one it's beautifully written and has me interested from the off. It's a POV of the war that I've not read yet so would be really interested to read this one.
Also - short chapters are always a winner 😂
