Enjoyed it but not my cup of tea
This was an oviously well researched book, with a harrowing story set at one of the most horrific points in history.
For me, the quotations at the start of chapters really helped to situate me in the story, allowing me to follow the characters with more clarity.
The writing style just wasn't for me, and I think it is because it's from the historical fiction genre. Something about the style of the writing just doesn't mesh well with me.
The characters although interesting, fell a little flat personality wise, and I felt as though I couldn't personally connect to them.
All in all, if you are a historical fiction fan I would absolutely recommend this to you, an interesting, well researched story
