I found this book a real page turner. The short chapters were great, ensuring I continued reading.
The quotes at the start of the chapters were both educational and horrific, adding to the understanding of the story. Starting with the German opinion and ending with the Allies side added to the tide turning feel of the War, despite the terrible price so many people paid.The characters were well drawn and completely believable, ensuring I was emotionally invested in their outcome too.
I felt the historical accuracy was good enough to make this book part of the National Curriculum.
