Interesting but not as gripping as I thought

This book was centered around the 2nd world war, I therefore thought it would be more dramatic. It was just an interesting read.

This book was in reality about the friendship of 2 girls from different backgrounds which could have taken place anywhere.

The style of writing wasnt dramatic enough to feel you were in the book and didn't pull at your emotions enough through the book which it could have done more through how the girls felt but just didn't, the girls should have shown more fear with what was going on around them to make this a great book.

There were inconsistencies with the Jewish girl supposedly coming from a religious background but in reality not acting at all religious and one part where there was a harmles kiss with her and a Rabbi which would never happen in real life.

The only part that was really good however was the ending and then made sense that the whole story was only about the two girls friendship but could have been so much more.
