Loved the beginning of this set the scene quickly and into the story. It’s a story of Nazi times and how people fought to survive. Highlighting different backgrounds and different pathways. From Jewish families to survivors of the first world war.
Very easy to read in short chapters a great book when your out and about!
Follow the story Simone, who thinks her country is a safe zone. Her father works for the military and off to war he goes leaving his daughter behind. Telling her to stay safe and sending an aunt to care for her.
Watch Simone develop a friendship with a peer and evolve understanding others beliefs for them to be highlighted as wrong. Watch her world change and evolve into what it was to become.
