The blurb of this book left me feeling slightly underwhelmed and the cover didn't particularly catch my attention, however the first few chapters completely changed my mind.

The chapters shifting third person viewpoint's between Josie and Scott, mother and son, provides an interesting reading experience where the reader is able to gain valuable insight into their inner thoughts and feelings. Therefore, it is no surprise that I already feel invested and am rooting for the characters who I have only known for 29 pages.

The language is rich, and illustrates beautiful images that I would've thought unlikely when discussing anatomy, however it has been pulled off to create interesting ideas about love and death. Definitely would like to read the rest of this novel.
