This book is quite different to what I normally enjoy or tend to read but I found this first impression surprisingly gripping!
Set at a small homestead in the Australian outback,not sure what time but I'm guessing fairly early into the colonisation by the use of spear and musket, we're introduced to a small farming family and a band of mixed white/aboriginal brigands terrorising the area.
This book had a real wild west vibe and although I knew what was coming from the blurb I was encouraged by how the author has set the scene so well, and the violence was matter of fact, not over-done to the point of being ridiculous.
