From the first couple of pages I got a strong sense of space, isolation, heat, dust and inescapable violence. Bill Swigs has created evocative characters and dramatic settings that instantly transported me to the Australian outback and its 19th century inhabitants. I’m so excited about this book and wish that I had more of it available to read right away.
