At first this reads more like Wild West America than Australia, in fact I was convinced this was the setting until it is mentioned that Sean O'Rourke is an emancipated Convict - can only be one place for that. Not too sure this is my kind of book. Certainly the writing is strong with a nicely moving plot and good characterisation but the story itself doesn't feel like my cup of tea.
