Having only read 23 pages i can see how this won the Wilbur Smih prize, it is definitely in the same sort of style of his writings. It flowed well and there was plenty of story crammed into such a brief opening.

Starts off as a story of two brothers hunting a dingo, then swiftly moves into the brutal murder of their parents from some outlaws who seemed on the run already, leaving the two teenagers orphans with a farm of cattle needing to be sold.

Can't wait to read how they cope on their own after the initial shock of their parents murder wears off, how/if they manage to get their revenge on their parents murderers and from the synopsis how they deal with the ruthless businessman who will obviously try and take advantage of the teenagers situation to try and get their land from them.
