'Blood in the dust' was better than I expected it to be. Initially I was drawn to the books cover, deciding that this could be a good read, and it did not disappoint. From the grisly start right up to the end I was gripped. The characters were memorable and the plot interesting. For me the story overall felt reminiscent of a Wilbur Smith novel, and I enjoyed that, this book is rough and ready, it transports the reader to the australian outback, and the author does it really well. I would definitely recommend 'Blood in the dust' to other readers although it might not be to everyone's taste, I'm glad to have read this book and discovered a new author, I would definitely read more books by Bill Swiggs.
