Rarely read western novels but this was outstanding.
In 1853 in Victoria, Australia a family is attacked by Bushrangers leaving two young boys to survive their parents and try to keep their homestead going.
When a local businessman tricks them out of their holding Toby and Paddy teaming up with another family try to make it as gold prospectors.
But always in the back of Toby's mind is the murder of his parents and revenge on those who took away his heritage.
Full of believable and likeable characters this has everything, plot, family drama, revenge and deceit set against the colonial backdrop of Victorian Australia.
A great read and would definitely recommend it to other readers who enjoy this genre.
