This novel is set out in the bush land of Australia in the 1800’s and although the beginning is gripping with the murder and harm of 3 out of 4 of the family members, I don’t know if the rest of the book would keep me as gripped.
The novel is well written and is to follow but I feel as though I’ve written a short story where the action has already taken place. The characters and the family dynamic works well but there is not really enough time to get to know the characters before they were killed so I wasn’t really invested in them enough to want to find out what happened next.
Unfortunately I don’t think this would be a book I’d go out and buy. I really enjoyed the sneak peek but I think that is as far as I would go.
