I enjoyed this more then I didn't enjoy it. It's hard to explain but i felt like literally nothing happened but too much happened at the same time. There seemed to be 3 or 4 stories rolled into 1 which I did enjoy but at the same time I'm not sure how easy it was to follow or what relevance it has to the story. The original plot was 2 boys seek a new life after their parents death, then it was about an outlaw then about the miners and a love story, and found family. It did all wrap up there weren't any loose ends but I did feel like we could have lost part of it. Did it really need the love story? Could the involvement of the miners be made less? I did enjoy the book but found because of this some parts were paced quite slow and I felt like most of the action and resolution was in the last 50 pages. I've never read anything like it before, rhe setting on the storyline so I'm not sure what genre to put it under.
