Well I cast aside my reservations about this book after reading the blurb and deciding to give it a try. The cover had really put me off.........lazy and predictable and not something I'd be drawn to in the bookshop to pick up and have a look at.
And yet the blurb drew me in......promising a historical romp, sounding fast paced and fun.
It wasn't.
It was meandering, convoluted and just not particularly well written enough to engage me and keep my attention.
I honestly am struggling to find anything positive to say about this book, which I hate doing....every book has it's redeeming features.....so maybe I should just say that I wasn't a fan, but I'm sure other readers will find something within it's pages that they like.
