Too much suspension of disbelief required for me.

When you are placing your book in a setting that has been used many times before you do need to have a clear U.S.P. to make it stand out from the rest. With fictional offerings such as television's "Silent Witness" being so well known, that is the problem facing the writer here.

I did like the description of Cassie Raven as a black-haired goth working as a mortuary assistant, which I thought might be quirky enough to hold some appeal for me. However, the idea that she could also somehow connect and communicate with the dead was something I thought was going to require me to suspend my disbelief just a little too much, so not for me.
