Body Language by A.K. Turner is a crime fiction novel about Cassie Raven a mortuary technician. Underneath her unconventional appearance Cassie is a deeply empathetic person who takes her job seriously and cares about the bodies in her care.
Body Language follows Cassie as she investigates what she believes to be the suspicious death of Mrs Geraldine Edwards her old science teacher. Alongside this, strange things are going on within the morgue as the body of an elderly man disappears. This disappearance introduces us to DS Flyte an uptight detective dealing with her own problems. Mainly told in Cassies POV we do however get chapters from DS Flyte aswell.
Crime fiction is not my usual genre of choice and although it took me a few chapters to be hooked once I was I couldn’t put the book down. The descriptions of Cassies job and the emotions that go along with it really hooked me and I was kept guessing throughout and I devoured the book in no time!
