Enjoyable crime fiction
Body Language is an engaging crime and mystery novel that strikes the perfect balance between fantasy and reality. The main character, mortuary technician Cassie Raven, is a compelling female lead with an edgy yet likeable personality, relatable emotions and motives, and an intriguing, chequered past. The story moves along at a good pace, with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting and entertaining throughout. I particularly enjoyed the realistic and well-crafted relationships between Cassie Raven and her former friend and mentor, Mrs E, her Polish grandmother, Babcia, and Detective Sergeant Phyllida Flyte, to name but a few.
I would highly recommend Body Language to crime fiction fans who enjoy medical mysteries starring strong female protagonists, and I hope that this is not the last we will hear of super sleuth Cassie Raven!
