Great read! Fresh writing from AK Turner I loved reading it from the point of a mortuary technician ( rather than the usual police detectives) it has definite tones of the series silent witness ( a favourite ) hopefully this will lead to a new series in the future following Cassie Raven, who I can only describe as “rockin”. Her relationship with the detective Phyllida Flyte is seemingly odd; total opposites but the dynamics just work ! I can only presume there relationship will evolve with more books ? there is so much you want to know about them.
Cassies character is very likeable and her back story of her parents death and Grandma that supports her really gives a sense of her life and where her empathy and where her interesting chat to her “customers” comes from.
A few good plot twists; and a griping read right from the start that will make you want to read into the night to find out what happens for sure ... just brilliant!
