People think being a mortuary technician is a seriously weird job. They can't understand why I choose to cut up dead bodies for a living. But they don't know what I know:
The dead want to tell us what happened to them.

I've eviscerated thousands of bodies, but never someone I know before - someone who meant a lot to me; someone I loved.
The pathologist says that her death was an accident.
Her body is telling me differently.

I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC by @readersfirst and I buddy read it with @elb.reads and @llana

The book started off a bit slow for me, there is a lot of background information which sort of halted character development. There were also a lot of story lines to follow and it was difficult to see how they would all connect. The book switched between the narratives of Cassie the mortuary technician who has a very weird obsession with dead bodies and DC Flyte, the office on the case.

The book was well written and as the story went on, it did get more interesting and had a typical “who done it” feel which I like. The ending was strong and unpredictable, however there was one storyline which I felt was completely forgotten about and was never really tied up. I’ve heard this book will be the first in a series and I would read more as I’m interested to find out how Cassie and DC Flyte’s relationship develops.

Thank you to @readersfirst @zaffrebooks and a.k Turner for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book will be released 26th November!
