LOVE
Hmmmm where to start with this book.
I really enjoyed the different characters and how well they were written.
Cassie
I loved how different she was but also how aware she was that she was different. How she could change her appearance to make people feel comfortable in her presence. I loved how passionate she was about her job. It was also very heart warming the story of how she got where she was in the book. With a not so great start in life and an influential teacher to show her the ropes I think she was in the perfect career for herself.
DS Flyte
I am ex police myself so really identified with some of the actions and re-actions that she was faced with in this book. Having a back story to a character is always important and I felt that her's was particulary relevant and heart breaking. I loved the fact that she seemed to come to terms with some of her loss towards the end of the book.
I feel like there was no ending to this book - Cassie has just learned of her parentage and what actually happened between her parents. And that shockingly her Dad is not dead! What will she do with this knowledge and I feel like the author should continue this with another book and make it a series.
I have never read a fiction book set around a mortuary and I throughly enjoyed it. I would definately read more by this author.
