I was really looking forward to reading this one and I certainly wasn't disappointed! The main character, Cassie Raven is very quirky and unique - I was really intrigued by her and her ability to be able to talk to dead people. She works as a mortuary technician so it is her job to literally cut dead bodies up for a living.
The main plot of the book is Cassie discovering that someone she used to know has died in what she believes to be suspicious circumstances. Everyone else seems to think it was just an accident but Cassie is convinced that this is not the case and sets out to prove it. We meet some other characters along the way including DS Flyte who Cassie does not warm to at first but by the end of the book her feelings have changed.
I feel like this is intended to be a series and I'd definitely be interested in reading stories following Cassie. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to anyone that likes crime novels.
