I like the concept of someone who works in a mortuary, it seems very personal and emotive. The theme being the main character is going to investigate a friend's death, it demonstrates a sense of distrust and allows for enveloping either bad or good consequences for her actions. The cover initially intrigued me, it's very dark and gives off the impression the author clearly intends.

I think the intent and concept is very original, it consists of different views, a diener who sees dead bodies daily, seeing the body of a friend provides perspective that emotion is the strongest enabler. The author demonstrating a perspective of a worker that would commonly go unknown when discussed about funerals. It's refreshing to see a book with a main character with a job that author's wouldn't usually write about. Which also brings up the question, wouldn't a person dealing with dead bodies be a better investigator solely due to the variety of bodies they've seen?
