"I can't breathe"
The story opens up with a post-mortem assistant, Cassie as she prepares for the long day ahead of her. In the first few pages we are introduced to the type of character she is, how she can speak to the dead.
However on the first page, Cassie is already met with the plot of the novel, Mrs C. By doing so, I already feel intrigued as the novel has started in media res. There are moments when the narrator stops to think and you can't help but giggle when she calls people a 'twat'. I usually have a tendency to dislike main characters in novels however Cassie has proved me wrong. Her character is witty and incredibly funny which makes the story a whole lot easier to read.
The author has honestly done a splendid job in keeping the writing descriptive but also packed with the plot.
"Body Language" is a thriller we all need to read, and I'm positive it will blows the socks right off your feet.
