This was absolutely brilliant. I was captivated from start to finish, truly. There were so many moments my breath was caught. I was absolutely entranced in the story, desperately wanting to know what happened to Mrs. E.
Cassie was a wonderful character. I love how she challenged people's first impressions of her. I love that it's a not so subtle reminder that we need to be mindful of our initial judgements of people who may look a little different or style themselves different than our "normal". Never a problem to stick in not so subtle messaging like that. I love how Cassie was never deterred by anyone's opinions of her. How kick-ass of a personality she was.
There was enough suspense going on that just when you thought you had things figured out, something would throw a spanner in it and you'd have to recalculate what you had deduced.
