I really enjoyed reading this book. I found the protagonist a really exciting and engaging character. She’s judged because of how she looks, dresses and behaves. Working in a mortuary, she gives the body’s compassion and time. She doesn’t treat them as bodies, but does what she can to bring them comfort. When she senses something isn’t quite right, she stops at nothing to solve the mystery, even if that means putting herself at harm.
I found the writing style really good and easy to follow. It was a pacy book with lots of twists. I was engaged throughout the time reading - it took just a couple of days to finish this one.
The only thing I wasn’t too keen on was the ending but this is very minor. It’s a well written book with a developed plot and excellent characters. I’d happily read more books by this writer for sure. This book is a must read for any crime/thriller fans.
