This is a timely look at the way the drugs trade is part of the life of the American under class in that it is their way to live the American dream. It is also timely as the wives, Mia and Olivia, in this story are telling how their spouses turned on El Chapo and became federal witnesses. Coming at a time when there is an upcoming book on the capture of El Chapo this book is a good counterpoint. It is also good to read the stories of the wives and their role in convincing their husbands to leave the drugs trade albeit for a secured facility for those in witness protection facing imprisonment while their wives were given knew identities.
