I tried with this book, I really did, but some 100 pages in I can’t see myself ever finishing it. The wives are far from glamourising their partners lives and don’t even try to paint either themselves or their husbands in anything but an honest light. However I just can’t shake the feeling that the brothers only really chose the informant route as the felt the net close in around them and not because they all decided the glamourous and lavish lifestyle they were all leading wasn’t the future they wanted for their respective children. Perhaps I’m too sceptical to give a book like this a fair try but I can’t see what, bar perhaps another pay cheque the wives had to gain by putting their stories out there.
