Initially I thought that reading about the Mexican Cartels from an insider's perspective would be really interesting so I entered the draw and won a copy of the book. Gangs are a scourge worldwide, from Nigerian gangs of con artists to Russian mobsters and the idea of getting a real glimpse into the day to day life was intriguing.
However I found the book very hard to read and struggled to get into the story. Whilst I think that the women are very brave to tell their stories and admire the fact that they and their families had to give up everything to bring down the leaders, of a frankly odious organisation, it was not quite what I was expecting to read.
Overall I found the book a disappointing read.
