After reading the first 20 or so pages, my first impression was that Olivia Flores was an obnoxious, spoilt, selfish woman who deserved everything she got.
I'm so glad I persevered with the rest of the book which tells the true story of how Olivia and Mia fell in love with identical twin brothers, Junior and Peter Flores, the highest level drug traffickers who eventually gave up their lives of crime to become US informants.
Whilst the drugs they imported into the USA caused thousands of deaths and misery and poverty for millions, the Flores families spent obscene amounts of money living celebrity lives, buying and building new properties, cars, planes and even painting the dogs claws!
Olivia and Mia now live in constant fear that the drugs cartels that their husbands helped to bring to justice will find them and their families and wreak their revenge. Peter and Junior remain in prison for at least another 3 more years missing their children growing up.
I do not feel sorry for Olivia and Mia but I do admire their spirit and the courage it took to write this honest account of the lives they lived with the twins.
