I don't particularly like historical non-fiction or Christmas-themed reads and the extract just wasn't engaging enough to pique my interest. I enjoyed the first paragraph then quickly lost interest. This is no reflection on the author's work. The extract seemed well written and easy to read. I just wasn't particularly keen on the subject matter.
The cover is rather average and I felt it could have been more inviting. I would have liked it to have been a touch more colourful and festive.
