The cover held no appeal to me, I thought it looked quite cheesy. The introduction gave a good basic background to Christmas over the war years however I think the book came into its own once the snatches of Christmas memories were told. They were easy to read and had some interesting perspectives however I would have prefered to have heard from far less people and have longer much more detailed stories from a select few
