I love reading historical fiction set during the first and second world wars so I would very much like to read this . I love the inventiveness of the people concerned . They are so desperate to have Christmas Day made as normal as possible . They hope that by doing so that they can put the horrors of war to one side for a day . Of course as war continues there are more and more empty places at the tables .
