What a wonderful book. It is nice to go down memory lane, to a place so long ago. Good and bad memories are important to cherish. My parents used to talk about the good old days and my mum was evacuated. The book has a warm fuzzy feel to it. The memories of the elderly are so precious and great to hear. I quite lost myself in the various extracts. It was lovely to read stories similar to what I grew up with. I liked the style of writing. How one person's experience flowed into another. It amazing the level of detail some of these people still remember. Christmas is a good time to set for the book, as most people would remember them quite clearly. A marvelous book which would be an honour to read.
