First of all, I love the cover of this one. Such a heart-warming picture and I love how it is a real picture, matching to the type of genre book that it is.
I’ve never really read an autobiographical/biographical book before but I’ve always been interested in the topic of the World War and we have all read the stories of how they played football at Christmas. I loved how this had lots of little snippets, like diary entries and it was fascinating to read. I was actually doing a World War 2 unit at school and even the children enjoyed reading little snippets from ‘real people’ that experienced the war themselves. I would thoroughly recommended this to anyone who likes history - great read!!!!
