I've been really proud of myself this year for making a big effort to read a lot more non-fiction, as I tend to be a psychological thriller kind of girl. Therefore, I was really excited at the prospect of reading and reviewing 'Christmas at War, a non fiction book which presents people's true stories of their memories and experiences of Christmas during the years of the Second World War.

The book started off great. The book is divided into chapters based on topics, such as The evacuations. The soundbites from various interviewees were really interesting. However, due to formatting issues, it wasn't always clear if a story was being told by a new speaker or not. What's more, the book didn't flow for me, so didn't live up to its potential.
