This should have been a win-win for me - a spy type thriller and the historical aspect - both genres I really love.
However, I just couldn't get into it properly - I don't know a lot about this historical period so I thought I would be enthralled by the detail and keen to learn more. The style of the writing, the plot and the history just didn't click for me.
At the moment I would label this a current not pick - but may be revisited.
The characters didn't come alive for me - I had trouble thinking who was who & why they were doing specific things.
I will be interested in reading other reviews as I very rarely dislike books or don't get into them - so will wait and see if it's just a case of me not you with this book.
