Noemi is part of a special division of warriors. Like Kamikaze pilots of the future, their mission is to die in attack. From these early chapters, it would seem there will be some interesting exploration of the political motivation of war. Noemi sees herself as different to the mechs sent to fight by the other side, but she too has been programmed to die. From the synopsis, it is clear she will fall in love with a mech. I am interested to find out how the relationship changes her perspective on her role in the war.

Noemi's friend Esther is introduced early on. I would like to know whether this friendship will cause any conflict once Noemi enters into a relationship. Will she be forced to choose between the boy she loves and the friend who has been by her side since her parents died?

As a character, Noemi challenges sterotypes about boys being stronger than girls. The cover shows her gazing into the eyes of a boy. I would be interested to find out how she develops throughout the story - how will the relationship change her 'tough girl' personality?
