Sacrafice your lives, they say. Sacrafice your children. Only through sacrafice can Genesis survive.

The first line in this book had me hooked! 'In three weeks Noemi Vidal will die - here, in this very spot.' I didn't want to put it down. The book is done in two points of views, Noemi and Abel, switching in each chapter.

In the first part of the book, Noemi and her fellow soldiers go out on a practice run for the Masada Run that takes place in three weeks where they end up in an unexpected fight with Earth. Noemi' friend Esther gets hurt during this and Noemi saves her a takes her to this abandoned ship that they've only just noticed in order to save her. On this ship, they meet Abel - an Earth mech who has been trapped aboard for thirty years when everyone up and left leaving him stuck. Noemi finds out that the ship - called the Daedalus - was Burton Mansfield's who created these mechs, mechs are made ranging from B-Z and they all have certain capabilities whereas Abel is superior and has all the capabilities of B-Z mechs.

It isn't hard to leave life behind, he thinks, once you've had a life worth living.

I throughly enjoyed this book and because of the way it ended it is open for another book. I give this book a 5/5 stars and I look forwards to reading more by books that Claudia Gray has written! I highly recommend this book if you enjoyed the Divergent series or just like YA Sci-Fi! The cover of this book is absolute gorgeous and the development that Abel and Noemi go through mainly seeing the mech develop in his human capabilities is interesting to read, I was incredibly immersed in this world that I want to know more about it, so I do hope that there is a sequel!
