The book plunges the reader straight into the action although there are a lot of past events and characters for the reader new to the series to catch up on quickly. Some of the recapping felt a little forced or obvious. This sounds like a book that will contain a lot of political intrigue, plenty of action and a good amount of historical detail, clearly based on extensive research by the author.
