Gosh these romans were brutal in their time. Robert Fabbri has done his research and has portrayed this era wonderfully .His background knowledge on the customs and rituals are explicit . The novel has loads of characters and many names which are confusing at times more so since I have not read all the previous books in the series . I did have to fill in some blanks as the story progressed but it didn't take away from the main storyline which was easy to catch up on . The plot was thrilling and contained family and friend problems
