I'm not quite sure what I've read. From the very start this book was strange - from the reincarnations of people after they've die to the people who hunt tuna with a seal sidekick. It is well-written, very vivid descriptions that bring the ideas to life. However, I couldn't honestly say I enjoyed it and I'm not convinced that I would want to read the rest of the book.
