A departure from reality

I really wanted to really like this book. I like it, but it comes across as a bit disjointed in places. The basic story is that the women in the McAllister family who have been cremated, return to life after they've died, their body intermingled with the environment where their ashes where scattered. Levi and Charlottes' mother returns, goes to her ex-husbands house and promptly bursts into flames on his lawn and disappears forever.
Levi sets about trying to source a coffin for his sister so she can be buried rather cremated. However he doesn't discuss this with her and she decides to leave.
At this point various other characters are introduced, flitting from one story to the next and it's not until the last few chapters that it all makes sense.
A departure from reality, but a sweet story.
